Xiaomi 17 Max is the upcoming member of the company’s current flagship lineup. It is expected to feature an 8,000mAh battery and a camera setup similar to that of the Xiaomi 17. However, a new leak out of China now suggests that the Xiaomi 17 Max will have an even more capable camera system.
Xiaomi 17 Max camera setup
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPE main sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches, paired with a 50MP Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto sensor of 1/1.953 inches. It will also include a 50MP ultrawide lens.

In comparison, the vanilla Xiaomi 17 features a trio of 50MP sensors for main, telephoto, and ultrawide shots. The leak adds that the phone will continue Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica for imaging.
Aside from this, the tipster did not share details about other hardware specifications. However, a previous report claims the 17 Max will feature a roughly 6.8-inch display and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip under the hood. The 8,000mAh battery is also expected to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Since it is a non-Pro model, the Xiaomi 17 Max is not expected to feature a secondary rear display, which is currently available on the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. Instead, its rear design is said to be similar to that of the standard Xiaomi 17.
Finally, Digital Chat Station claims the phone will launch in China in Q2 2026. Unfortunately, there are slim chances of it making its way to the global market, as Xiaomi is likely to only launch the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra internationally.
